Drinking and driving, or driving drunk, is a serious criminal offense in the state of Texas and carries with it serious penalties for a person convicted for DWI in the court of law.

Fine: Up to a whopping 10,000.00 fine.
Jail Time: 2 to 10 Years in a state run criminal correctional facility in Texas.
Other Penalties: A drivers license suspension from a period of anywhere from six months to two years.
